    ICL Visian

Implantable collamer lens for high myopia — sharp vision when laser surgery is not an option

    What is ICL Visian?

ICL Visian is a soft implantable collamer lens placed inside the eye, in front of the natural lens. It is designed for high myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism, and for people whose corneas are too thin or too irregular for laser correction. No corneal tissue is removed and the natural lens stays in place, so the treatment preserves the eye's own structures and can be reversed if ever needed. Vision is typically sharp and high-contrast within a day of the procedure.

    Why choose ICL Visian?

    For high prescriptions

Corrects myopia from -6 to -18 D and astigmatism that laser treatment cannot safely handle.

    The cornea stays intact

No corneal tissue is removed, which makes it suitable for thin or irregular corneas.

    A reversible procedure

The lens can be removed or replaced if your vision or needs change in the future.

    Excellent optical quality

Collamer is biocompatible with UV protection and delivers sharp, high-contrast vision.

    How does ICL Visian work?

    How is ICL Visian implanted?

    Full diagnostics

We measure the cornea, anterior chamber depth and prescription to confirm you are a candidate.

    02

    Custom-made lens

The collamer lens is manufactured individually for the size and power of your eye.

    03

    Anesthetic drops

Only anesthetic drops are used — no injections and no general anesthesia.

    04

    Lens implantation

ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens) is a modern vision correction procedure in which a special lens is implanted between the iris and the eye's natural lens. It works like a contact lens inside the eye and corrects myopia, astigmatism or other refractive errors in people whose dioptres exceed the safe limits of standard laser treatment. Unlike laser surgery, this procedure does not change the shape of the cornea, and the lens can be removed or replaced if needed.

ICL is most often recommended for patients with high myopia or astigmatism, a thin or irregular cornea, or for those who are not suitable for laser treatment for medical reasons. The surgery is performed when vision has been stable for at least one year.

No. Anaesthetic drops are applied to the eye before the procedure, so the patient feels no pain. Only a slight sensation of pressure or touch may be noticed.

The whole procedure takes about 20–30 minutes per eye. After a short period of observation the patient can go home.

For most patients vision improves as early as the day after surgery, but the final result can be assessed after a few weeks.

Yes. The implanted lens can last for decades or a lifetime if vision remains stable. Should your vision change in the future, the ICL lens can be removed or replaced.

No. The lens is placed behind the iris and is visible neither to the patient nor to anyone else.

As with any surgical procedure there are risks, for example increased eye pressure or inflammation. Patients are monitored closely after surgery, and complications are very rare when the doctor's advice is followed.

Use eye drops as prescribed by your doctor, avoid rubbing your eyes, refrain from intense sports, sauna and swimming for a while, and attend your regular follow-up visits.

Yes. If needed (for example in case of cataract or other eye conditions), the ICL lens can be removed and another procedure performed.
